An opportunity has arisen in the Neurodisability service at Ryegate Children's Centre which is part of Sheffield Children's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic clinical psychologist to join our busy team to provide a psychology service to children and families as well as advice and consultation to professional colleagues.
You will join an established multidisciplinary team providing assessments and interventions for children with neurodevelopmental difficulties. A significant proportion of the post will involve completing assessments in the Social Communication Clinic, therefore extensive experience of assessment of children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorders in particular will be required (preferably including post qualification training).
Good communication skills for written report writing and close working with other members of the multidisciplinary team will be essential. Your duties will include those of professional management of psychology colleagues and clinical supervision, as well as a significant leadership contribution to the service.
NB. Applicants must be able to work a minimum of 3 days per week
Main duties of the job
* To provide a qualified specialist clinical psychology service to children and young people referred to the Ryegate Neurodisability Service at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust.
* To ensure the systematic provision of a high quality specialist clinical psychology service to clients of the specialist Neurodisability team, specifically the provision of specialist psychological assessments and interventions, including the provision of specialist reports and to offer specialist advice, consultation and teaching on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and professional and non-professional carers.
* To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the Neurodisability Service.
* To develop, support and maintain effective working relationships with other disciplines within the service area, including attending Team Meetings.
* To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research.
* To propose and implement policy changes within the specialist area served.
* To make a contribution to the general management and supervision of the clinical psychology service as agreed.
