Job summary We are seeking a passionate and motivated nurse or nursing associate who is interested in developing learning opportunities across Newcastle GP practices. The post holder will work closely with the NGPS workforce lead to maintain current student placements, but seek to develop new learning opportunities for multiprofessional students across the city. The aim being to grow our workforce and then value and retain staff by a robust programme of support and development. They will work with the wider workforce team within NGPS to offer support and supervision to learners at all stages of their career. NGPS is an organisation set up and run by the GPs of Newcastle upon Tyne. This exciting new position is to work across Newcastle General Practice as practice placement facilitator and student support nurse, we seek someone keen to make a difference and join our team. Main duties of the job In collaboration with education providers, assist in the management of the portfolio of student placements within our member practices here in general practice in Newcastle. To expand practice placement opportunities as necessary across a broad range of disciplines/professional areas in conjunction with the EELE team and partner educational institutions. To facilitate and maintain a student general practice induction programme. To contribute to ensuring the quality of existing placements by identifying areas of good practice and establishing the professional development needs of clinical supervisors in the area. To provide support and guidance to supervisors or equivalent and to students, particularly in relation to highlighting potential problems in placement areas. To facilitate and support with personalised student progression plans. To coordinate and supervise Student led clinics for our learners.
