Welcome to Motel
Our story began during a road trip in the 1990s, where our founders, Will and Andy, travelled across America collecting vintage items while living out of motels. They started purchasing vintage clothing in the USA and selling it wholesale, which eventually led to the creation of stores. From there, they began designing reworked vintage pieces, and thus, Motel was born.
Over 30 years and a team of 200+ people later, every piece of clothing we make is created with the same spirit of fun, freedom and adventure as the road trip that first defined the brand. We’re still ambitious and independent, but now we’re a global team - we work from an operational base in Worcester, a design studio in London and a creative studio in Bali.
The role
As the Advertising Operations Manager, you will be the key driver of our ad campaigns, managing the end-to-end process from creative brief to execution on TikTok and Meta (Facebook, Instagram). Working closely with our creative, media, and stock management teams, you’ll ensure that campaigns are not only eye-catching and on-brand but also strategically optimised based on product availability and inventory levels. Your goal will be to maximise ad performance while aligning with our inventory to prevent stockouts and capitalise on high-performing items.
Main tasks & responsibilities
* Own the entire ad campaign lifecycle on TikTok and Meta, from conceptualization to go-live, ensuring campaigns are on-brand and engaging.
* Collaborate with the creative team to develop ad assets, including video, static, and carousel formats, tailored for maximum impact on TikTok and Meta platforms.
* Work with the media team to define audience segments, placements, and bid strategies that align with campaign goals.
* Monitor real-time performance of campaigns, making data-driven adjustments to creative, targeting, and budget allocation to optimize engagement, reach, and conversions.
* Act as the primary liaison between the ad operations and stock management teams to ensure product availability aligns with ad demand.
* Identify and prioritize high-performing products for campaigns, coordinating with the stock team to increase inventory where necessary or adjust ad focus as stock levels fluctuate.
* Analyze historical ad performance and stock trends to forecast inventory needs, ensuring a steady supply of popular items during peak campaign periods.
* Generate weekly and monthly reports on campaign performance metrics, including reach, engagement, conversion rates, and ROAS.
* Provide insights on how stock levels impact ad performance, working with the stock team to address inventory challenges that may impact campaign effectiveness.
* Present actionable recommendations to senior management based on campaign data and stock insights to improve future ad strategies.
* Lead A/B testing efforts for creatives, captions, audiences, and placements to refine ad performance continually.
* Stay informed on TikTok and Meta advertising updates and industry trends, ensuring Motel Rocks stays at the forefront of best practices and innovative approaches.
* Regularly analyze creative performance to determine which content types and formats are driving the best results, advising the creative team on adjustments for future ads.
