About this Role:
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Working Foreman looking to work with a busy regional contractor based in Surrey with a steady pipeline of work in the Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey and W.Sussex areas.
This role would also suit an experienced carpenter/joiner or carpentry foreman looking to step into a management role with a main contractor.
Reporting to the Construction Director, you will be responsible for the organisation and coordination of work activities and trade subcontractors on your site.
Duties include: client liaison, short-term look ahead programming of work, management and coordination of sub-contract trades, ensuring company standards followed for health and safety, quality assurance, coordination meetings, issue resolution, snagging and handovers.
About the Company/Client/Project:
This regional main contractor is well established in the area with circa £25m turnover and a range of new build and refurbishment projects currently on site and good pipeline of secured work into 2025/6.
The scope of work includes new build and refurbishment works in schools and colleges, libraries, museums, car showrooms, care homes, etc. Projects ranging from £300k upwards but typically around the £2-3m mark in value.
Workload is secured via a mix of competitive tenders, regional frameworks and negotiated projects for repeat clients.
This is a well-established regional contractor with a very low turnover of staff and long service amongst both senior management and operational staff.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
You will ideally have a time served trades background, experience of managing and coordinating other trades on site as foreman with a few years working in this role.
You will possess the ability to coordinate activities on site, manage other trade sub-contractors, carry out inductions and monitor / enforce safe working practices, progress of works against programme, and basic QA to ensure work is carried out according to the drawing and specified quality.
You will ideally have the capacity to look and plan ahead, organise short-term programs and plan for logistics, deliveries of materials, removal of waste, etc
You will possess your CSCS supervisor card, and ideally SSSTS or SMSTS and First Aid qualifications.
