You will participate in the delivery of high standards of care to patients and their families. In particular, take responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes of evidenced-based nursing care to a group of patients.
Acting as an independent, autonomous practitioner, assessing, diagnosing, and discharging patients using sound clinical rationale and working under the direction of the senior practitioner team, in close liaison with interdependent departments.

Main duties of the job
* Duties and responsibilities will be undertaken on a shift and rotation basis covering our opening hours 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.
* To provide assessment, treatment management, and discharge of adults and children attending the Urgent Treatment Centre or minor injury units.
* Referral of patients to senior clinicians or interdependent departments promoting professional working relationships.
* Actively identify and report any clinical risks.
* Identify educational needs of self and proactively meet these needs.
* Assess, treat, and diagnose patients using nationally recognized tools, for example, NEWS/sepsis screening.
* Work as an autonomous practitioner using competencies including Patient Group Directives.
* Make clinical decisions using evidence-based knowledge.
* Offer health advice and promotion to patients and their families, including education on self-management.
* Actively participate in any departmental audit both on national and local basis.
* Undertake 'link' role attending relevant meetings and sharing learning with the wider team to influence and promote best practice.
About us
The UTC is a busy environment that supports the local community and sees a wide variety of patients of all ages with minor injuries and illnesses. We work remotely from the local Emergency Department but have close links to ensure the local communities have a high-quality service and are ideally placed to support in alleviating pressures on our Emergency Departments by relocating patients from the main hospital site.
We also operate and our team rotates into 2 satellite units providing our communities with a local service, keeping many patients closer to home.

Person Specification
* NMC HCPC registration
* Minor injury and illness modules
* Clinical experience such as WIC/ED/UTC
* Evidence of autonomous patient assessments

* Evidence of advanced skills such as suturing, plastering, digital nerve blocks
