We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Minor Illness Nurse to join our dynamic team. Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Minor Illness Nurse to provide high-quality clinical care for patients with minor illnesses, ensuring they receive appropriate advice, treatment, and support. As part of our team, you will work closely with GPs, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to deliver excellent patient care, manage appointments, and promote patient wellbeing. Key Responsibilities: Assess and manage patients with minor illnesses, providing effective treatment and advice. Work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver patient care in line with clinical protocols and best practice guidelines. Prescribe medications in line with practice protocols (if qualified to do so). Provide health education and advice to patients, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care. Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations. Support the practice team with chronic disease management, health promotion, and screening activities. Participate in continuous professional development and keep up to date with changes in clinical practice. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Minor illness certification or relevant additional training (minimum of level 6). Registered Nurse (RN) with a current NMC registration. Experience in a primary care with a particular focus on minor illness management. Advanced communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload, ensuring safe and effective care delivery. Knowledge of current clinical guidelines for minor illness management. Desirable Skills: Experience of working within a GP practice or other primary care settings. Clinical prescribing qualification (or willingness to undertake training if required).
