Job Overview: We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Logistics Manager to join our clients operations in Barden, Leicestershire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and motivated professional to oversee and optimize our logistics operations. The role involves managing end-to-end supply chain activities, ensuring efficient storage, distribution, and timely delivery of goods while maintaining a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day logistics operations across the site, ensuring smooth and efficient transport, storage, and dispatch of goods.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of logistics personnel to meet operational objectives.
Plan and manage resource allocation to meet delivery schedules and production targets.
Maintain accurate records for stock control, delivery schedules, and order tracking.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations, including HSE and transport legislation.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse space utilization and transportation efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional departments, including procurement, production, and customer service.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the performance of logistics functions and implement improvements.
Negotiate contracts and build relationships with third-party transport providers.
Manage budgets and ensure cost-efficient logistics solutions.
Required Skills and Experience: Proven experience in logistics management within a manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution environment.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within logistics operations.
Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics software.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Familiarity with budget management and cost control.
Desirable Qualifications: Bachelors degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
CPC qualification or similar would be advantageous.
Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
