An exciting opportunity to join the Surgical Services Senior Nursing Team as Personal Assistant (PA) for the Nurse Director and Deputy Nurse Director within Surgical Services.
You should have excellent communication, organisation, and administrative skills. The successful candidate will join a team of Care Group PAs supporting the Senior Management team in their day-to-day duties.
The core purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the Nurse Director and the Deputy Nurse Director.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide a comprehensive administrative and secretarial service to the Nurse Director and Deputy Nurse Director.
2. Be the first point of contact for the Nurse Director. Respond effectively, politely, and promptly to all enquiries, displaying excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Take the initiative in providing appropriate responses to enquiries, filtering and redirecting them as appropriate.
4. Manage the personal requirements of the Nurse Director and Deputy Nurse Director and all functions led from that office.
5. Prioritise and manage own workload in line with team priorities.
6. Produce consistently high standard of correspondence.
7. Manage the diaries and e-mail inboxes of the Nurse Director and Deputy Nurse Director, highlighting key issues in a timely manner.
8. Reply direct to correspondence or telephone calls as appropriate or draft correspondence on other matters.

Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs at grade C/Level 4 (or equivalent qualification or experience) including English Language at Grade C/Level 4 or above
* RSA/OCR stage III typewriting or word processing qualification (or equivalent qualification or experience)
* ECDL or equivalent qualification or experience
* NVQ II administration
* NVQ II Information Technology
Experience
* Extensive relevant secretarial experience including the ability to maintain high secretarial output
* Experience of supporting senior managers
* Fast, accurate audio and copy typing
* Experience of database and spreadsheet management
* Diary management (electronic and paper versions)
* Taking, producing, and circulating minutes
* Maintaining filing systems
* Experience of supervising staff
* Experience of working within an acute care setting

Salary: £26,530 to £29,114 a year (pro rata for part-time staff)
