Following a very successful 2024, AtkinsRéalis is looking for a talented Intermediate Electrical Engineer to support a variety of exciting projects, including Hinkley Point C (HPC), Sizewell C (SZC), Small Modular Reactors (SMR), and defence-based work. You’ll be joining a friendly and rapidly growing Integrated Engineering Solutions (IES) team within the Power New Build part of our business. This team specializes in supporting the delivery of nuclear new build projects for major operators in the nuclear sector. Additionally, you will work on advanced technologies for fusion power stations, including ITER and T1E, contributing to the development of cutting-edge solutions in the nuclear energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing and reviewing electrical system designs, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards.
* Conducting feasibility studies and technical assessments to identify optimal solutions for electrical systems.
* Preparing detailed specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
* Providing technical guidance and support during the construction, installation, and commissioning phases of projects.
* Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Collaborating with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
* Keeping up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to provide innovative solutions.
* Assist in the design, optioneering, evaluation, and assessment of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including Mechanical, Process, and Civil/Structural engineers, to support project delivery.
* Provide technical support and contribute to the resolution of project challenges.
* Participate in project meetings and contribute to the development of project plans and schedules.
* Support the preparation of technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and drawings.
* Engage in continuous professional development to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Ideal Candidate:
* Bachelor’s degree level qualification in electrical/electronic engineering, mechatronics, building services, or engineering mathematics, or a related field.
* Relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the nuclear or energy sector.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Good communication skills and the ability to present technical information clearly.
* Eager to learn and develop professionally, with a proactive approach to work.
* Working towards Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is desirable.
Security clearance:
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
