Job Description
Glasgow City Council is recruiting highly motivated Child Development Officers for placement on the Council's temporary Supply Register and deployment across the city to support operational service delivery.
Child Development Officers have responsibility for the learning and development of our youngest learners through the planning and preparation of stimulating learning experiences in line with Curriculum for Excellence and national practice guidance.
You will provide support and care whilst promoting the development of independence, competence and confidence in our young learners. In addition, you will be required to effectively engage with families and education, health and social care professionals, as and when required.
Applicants must posses a relevant qualification such as an HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 (formerly HNC Early Education and Childcare), SVQ Social Services Children and Young People at SCQF Level 7, National Nursery Examination Board certificate (NNEB), or equivalent, as required by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for registration as a practitioner in the day care of children's services.
All posts are based on a 52 week working arrangement and the successful candidates must be able to work flexibly on a rota basis between 8.00am and 6.00pm .
This position is subject to membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
The typical work pattern for part time is Monday, Tuesday/alt Wednesday or alt Wednesday/Thursday, Friday (although could be subject to change)
