About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Major Projects Team. You will be responsible for the delivery of various major projects across the UK, playing a significant part in the delivery of critical infrastructure for the energy transition.
This position will be remote and can be based anywhere in the UK. Regular travel will be required.
Responsibilities
1. Delivering the project to the agreed scope, within budget, on programme, meeting customer/client expectations.
2. Managing and overseeing the execution to completion of the assigned projects, supporting and working closely with other Project Managers to execute all elements of the assigned projects, taking into account specific site characteristics (topography, landscape, environmental and ecological constraints, current infrastructure, resourcing, and sustainability).
3. Managing all Project Health and Safety requirements as per Client requirements.
4. Ensuring works are carried out as required by the employer/client as per the scope of works identified in Scope of Work documents, ensuring that project management is carried out in accordance with client requirements.
5. Managing all Project Environmental requirements as required by the client.
6. Ensuring effective support for adherence to sustainability performance requirements set out by the client.
7. Preparing, developing, and managing a project Risk Register.
8. Working closely with the design team to produce the best engineering solution for joint bay locations, cable section lengths, and pulling locations, taking into account logistics and transport requirements.
9. Working closely with the wider team to manage and develop any necessary Scope of Works, Division of Responsibilities, Employer and/or Client Requirements, and Technical Specifications for the project works.
10. Interface, liaison, and coordination with any parties responsible for coinciding works (e.g., substation, converter station design/build) to ensure the interface for cable installation is fully understood and planned for successful execution.
11. Issuing Early Warning Notices (EWN) to Prysmian’s subcontractor or client as soon as Prysmian becomes aware of anything that could affect the total prices, delay completion of a key date, or impair the performance of the works.
12. Ensuring effective management of project resources to ensure efficient and effective execution of their roles and responsibilities, managing both Full-Time Employees and indirect employees.
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Prior experience of managing large-scale HV installation projects.
2. Experience of managing multiple resources, recruitment processes, and ongoing people management.
3. Knowledge of technical cable systems and cable installations.
4. Experience of interfacing with multiple stakeholders.
5. Strong planning skills and prior experience of using Microsoft Project to manage project planning and progress.
6. Preferably Degree qualified in a relevant project management or engineering principle, however not essential.
7. Prior experience of working autonomously and able to logically think to solve challenges.
