Job Description:
Scope of Role:
Manage and maintain the Company’s Suppliers by working closely with internal customers such as operations, purchasing, project leaders, and external suppliers to develop a mutually agreeable relationship.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the Company’s Supplier audit management in accordance with the BMS system.
2. Develop and maintain the supplier monitoring process using analytical techniques including enhancing the supplier scorecard and other KPIs deemed appropriate over the AAG companies.
3. Ensure all supplier quality system documentation maintenance is kept up to date – Supplier Quality Manual.
4. Maintain the supplier quality metrics working within the targets set and ensuring any non-conformances are subject to disposition in a timely manner.
5. Develop and maintain a Supplier database, scope of supply, frequency of review, etc.
6. Have sufficient knowledge of techniques to carry out Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis both internally and with suppliers.
7. Be competent in conducting 2nd & 1st party audits – a recognised lead auditing qualification is desirable.
8. Provide Quality Engineer support to all areas of the business as deemed necessary by the Quality Manager.
9. Support the internal NCR process and disposition CARs, analyse any trends therein and take appropriate action.
10. Support the supplier selection strategy for New Product Introduction.
11. Support 3rd party audits as required.
12. Promote/Support Continuous Improvement / Lean practices.
13. Good communication skills to succinctly capture and report findings and improvements, with good MS Office skills.
14. Develop and deliver in-house training to support the Certified Operator program related to supplier approval.
Position Requirements:
Professional Knowledge & Experience:
1. Significant proven experience of working in a supplier management role within a quality environment.
2. Ability to work in multi-functional teams, both externally and internally.
3. Aerospace/automotive experience would be desirable.
4. Proven planning skills.
5. Previous experience of producing accurate and detailed comprehensive written reports on suppliers.
6. Significant Microsoft Office skills, including the creation of Excel spreadsheets.
7. Six Sigma knowledge essential, green belt would be desirable.
8. Knowledge of aerospace regulatory requirements and authorities is desirable.
9. Good command of the English language and very articulate.
10. Good presentation and communication skills to groups of around 10-50 people.
11. Lean manufacturing experience would be desirable.
