Dispensing Optician - Trainee CLO - £30K - £35K Bonus Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dispensing Optician. The successful candidate will be a team player and motivator, play a crucial role in helping patients select and fit eyewear, ensuring they receive the best possible vision care. This position requires a strong understanding of optical principles and excellent customer service skills. You will work closely with both patients and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality optical services, also, maintaining a smooth clinic, overseeing any issues that may arise during the day Mentoring and giving advice to your colleagues, will not only be helpful, it will show your leadership qualities Does moving towards becoming a CLO, or are you currently studying, if so we really want to hear from you… Duties Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their needs, preferences, and prescriptions. Accurately measure patients’ eyes for proper fit of lenses and frames. Provide guidance on lens options, coatings, and frame styles. Conduct fittings and adjustments to ensure comfort and optimal vision. Maintain an organised inventory of eyewear products and supplies. Stay informed about the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology. Collaborate with optometrists to ensure seamless patient care. Educate patients on proper eyewear maintenance and care. Encourage and mentor colleagues that may wish to follow in your footsteps. Qualifications Qualified GOC Registered. Strong knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and vision care principles. Familiarity with laboratory processes related to eyewear production is/would be advantageous. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills are essential.
