IRIS+ Children and Young People’s Domestic Abuse Support Worker
Job Type: Fixed term post until December 2026, with the possibility of extension subject to successful funding
Hours: 35 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £14.96 per hour
Salary: £27,227 per annum
Purpose of the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a research project with the University of Bristol. The role of the IRIS+ Children and Young People’s Domestic Abuse Support Worker will include providing training to GP surgeries to improve health professionals' understanding of domestic abuse, with the aim of increasing the number of referrals made by GP surgeries for domestic abuse support. You will also provide support and advocacy for medium-risk individuals experiencing domestic abuse who have been referred by the participating GP surgeries. Working as part of a team you will be involved in planning, delivering, monitoring and evaluating the IRIS service across Bolton.
Key skills:
1. Experience of working within the domestic abuse and violence sector or a similar field
2. An understanding of child protection and the protection of adults at risk and a commitment to follow the procedure
3. Experience in delivering training
4. Experience in project or service development
5. Experience in building and maintaining professional relationships and partnerships
