Main duties of the job
We are looking for conscientious individuals with an enthusiastic and positive outlook. The successful candidate must demonstrate good organisational skills and be a strong team player. Self-motivation and reliability will be key in this role.
You will work alongside a wider administration team to support general admin duties including communication between patients and clinical teams, dealing with telephone enquiries, booking appointments, and updating electronic patient records when required amongst other general office duties. You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of patient confidentiality within an NHS setting.
You will be able to understand and accurately convey verbal and written information whilst remaining calm under pressure. You will learn and develop skills in using Microsoft Office and NHS systems.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* The successful candidate will complete the Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration within 18 months.
* Throughout the apprenticeship, the post holder will gain experience working in the Team within the Urology Department.
* The successful candidate will develop the required skills to assist in the day-to-day operation of the section ensuring the delivery of a consistently high-quality service to the Trust.
* Working within a team of administrative staff supporting the provision of an efficient secretarial support service to Consultants, Junior Medical Staff, and other clinical staff within their team, i.e., Specialist Nurses.
* Audio typing of letters and documents.
* Deal with telephone enquiries promptly.
* Communicates with patients regarding appointments and admissions at the request of the medical/secretarial staff.
* Cover admin posts Trust-wide as required.
* Ensure that all results requested are presented to the medical/nursing team as appropriate.
* Ensure that departmental spreadsheets are kept up to date.
Apprenticeship Posts: You will need to be able to meet all the eligibility requirements as prescribed by the apprenticeship criteria to undertake the role.
To be eligible for an apprenticeship, you must:
* Have the right to work and remain in the UK.
* Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years.
* Provide original evidence of required English and maths qualifications.

* NVQ Level 2 in administration or equivalent experience
