We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Employment Support Officer / Careers Advisorwho has experience of promoting and developing employability or related programmes, case management, action planning and target setting skills and knowledge and understanding of the local labour market and recruitment practice.
Working as the Employment Support Officer / Careers Advisor you will support the organisation’s Routes to Work project, supporting people to gain employment, start an education or training course, gain volunteering or work experience through 1:1 and group activity.
Based in the office in either High Wycombe, Aylesbury or Chesham, the Employment Support Officer / Careers Advisor will assist the CEO in the implementation, development and delivery of the service.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Employment Support Officer / Careers Advisor include:
1. Working as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team
2. Managing a caseload of clients & facilitating groups
3. Developing, in consultation with participants, flexible and realistic person-centred plans within agreed targets
4. Providing advice and information to participants
5. Promoting peoples’ autonomy, rights and responsibilities
6. Ensuring a collaborative approach, effectively communicating with internal and external partners
7. Maintaining record keeping to the required standard at all times, contributing to service monitoring requirements
8. Completing all relevant paperwork, in a time sensitive manner
9. Assisting in the development and implementation of service record keeping, procedures and policies
10. Attending relevant internal and external meetings as requested including multi-agency meetings
11. Developing and coordinating professional links with other network service providers
12. Ensuring the service is always represented in a professional manner
13. Providing employability information and advice, maintaining own awareness, and developing appropriate collateral
14. Applying recognised models ( motivational interviewing) to enable individuals to identify and explore concerns relating to their job search journey
15. Developing, implementing and reviewing formal and informal action plans and interventions
16. Ensuring effective action plans are provided
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
17. Ability to ensure the project delivers against agreed objectives and targets
18. Experience of promoting and developing employability or related programmes and opportunities
19. Experience of case management, action planning & target setting
20. Able to develop effective working relationships in a variety of settings
21. Understanding of confidentiality as it pertains to vulnerable people
22. Knowledge and understanding of barriers facing job seekers
23. Ability to communicate with a wide range of people, staff and volunteers, both verbally and in writing, with evidence of literacy and numeracy skills to support this
24. Understanding of safeguarding legislation and practice
25. Awareness of Health and Safety, risk assessments and professional boundaries
26. Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
27. Adaptability in a challenging and changeable environment
28. IT skills including Microsoft office packages with experience of using a client relationship management system an advantage
29. Able to evidence how you deliver a range of services in a person-centred, non-judgmental manner
30. Able to demonstrate flexibility and creativity when developing support packages
31. Keen to engage in regular supervision
32. Demonstrate commitment to evidence-based practice and maintaining currency in knowledge and understanding of support approaches, the local labour market and recruitment practice

34. Able to travel to various locations consistent with the service and participant need
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
