This busy local authority is seeking an interim Education Capital and Place Planning Officer to support school place planning and education capital projects, ensuring sufficient educational provision across the region.
Your Role as Education Capital and Place Planning Officer:
1. Lead on school place planning, identifying needs and solutions.
2. Collaborate with schools, councils, developers, and statutory bodies.
3. Manage school capital projects, ensuring they meet time, budget, and quality targets.
4. Support the improvement and decarbonisation of the maintained schools estate.
5. Advise on education infrastructure, funding opportunities, and policy development.
Your Previous Experience as an Education Capital & Place Planning Officer:
1. Experience in school place planning or education capital project management.
2. Strong understanding of education policy, school capacity, and demographic analysis.
3. Knowledge of project management methodologies and procurement strategies.
4. Proven ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders, including councils, academy trusts, and developers.
5. Proficient in interpreting cost plans, demographic data, and funding structures for education projects.
A hybrid working arrangement is in place, with site presence required when necessary.
