We’re Hiring: Project Manager – CWA Alliance (Sizewell C) As part of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), we are supporting the development of Sizewell C, one of the UK’s largest and most significant infrastructure projects. This new 3.2-gigawatt power station will provide low-carbon electricity to approximately 6 million homes and play a crucial role in the nation’s energy future. We’re looking for a Project Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that this transformative project is delivered to the highest standards. The Role: In this pivotal role, you’ll provide strategic operational management and strong leadership across various facets of the Sizewell C project. You will be responsible for overseeing the effective delivery of the construction programme, with a focus on quality, safety, productivity, and commercial performance. This is a hybrid role, based in London with travel to site as required. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of project milestones on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Oversee the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, and environmental targets, creating a culture of continuous improvement and a strong safety-first approach. Set and monitor performance KPIs for engineering, quality, and productivity, ensuring all targets are met and exceeded. Coordinate and manage relationships with key stakeholders including the UK Government, EDF, regulatory bodies, and the local community, ensuring alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle. Lead risk management efforts by conducting periodic reviews and ensuring that risk mitigation strategies are effectively implemented. Provide oversight of subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and commercial objectives. Manage and optimise project costs, identifying areas for cost savings and ensuring effective resource allocation across the project. Ensure the appropriate consents, permits, and licenses are obtained and complied with in line with regulatory requirements. Support the training and development of junior staff, providing guidance and leadership to foster professional growth and alignment with project goals. Drive Lean initiatives to improve project efficiency, ensuring that the right resources are allocated to the right areas at the right time. What You’ll Bring: Strong leadership and experience in managing large, complex projects within nuclear, infrastructure, or similarly technical environments. Proven ability to manage teams across multiple disciplines and drive performance through clear direction and motivation. In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation and the ability to implement and oversee safe systems of work. Experience in managing commercial aspects of large-scale projects, including cost management, risk scheduling, and procurement processes. A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage competing priorities and navigate complex challenges. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and represent the project with professionalism and integrity.
