Real Estate Solicitor | Agriculture
BCL Legal is working with a well-established national law firm, highly regarded across all departments and ranked in the Legal 500, to recruit a skilled Real Estate Solicitor for its respected Agricultural Property team to start as a Senior Associate or Principal Associate.
This firm offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with an interest in the Food and Agribusiness sector to handle complex, high-value matters. The role is available in either the Cambridge or London office, and a very competitive salary package is on offer for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and advise on investment sales, purchases, and development projects, including agricultural land, farms, and estates.
2. Provide legal counsel on agricultural tenancies, farming partnerships, and land leasing arrangements.
3. Oversee renewable energy projects, advising on legal aspects related to energy development on agricultural land.
4. Handle complex acquisitions and disposals of estates and strategic land, including hybrid promotion schemes.
5. Offer refinancing advice for landowners and businesses operating in the rural sector.
6. Build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of clients, including corporate landowners, educational institutions, charities, and national farming businesses.
7. Contribute to the development and marketing of the practice, helping to grow its reputation in the market.
Skills and Experience:
1. Proven experience in agricultural property work, ideally gained within a respected law firm or in-house environment.
2. Strong interest and understanding of the Food and Agribusiness sector, with awareness of key issues such as food security, sustainability, and renewable energy.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external partners.
4. Strong drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
5. A proactive, client-focused approach, with effective time and matter management skills.
About the Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be a motivated and enthusiastic solicitor with a genuine passion for agricultural property work.
Minimum of 3 years PQE experience in agricultural property.
You will possess a client-centric approach, demonstrating the ability to handle complex legal matters and deliver clear, effective advice.
