Job Title:Catering Assistant

Hours of Work:5 out of 7 days per week
Reporting To:Front of House and Catering Staff Manager
Sedbergh School is seeking to appoint a enthusiastic, eager Catering Assistant to help assist in the preparation and service of school meals, maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
Founded in 1525, Sedbergh School is a vibrant and supportive community, set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We encourage pupils and staff alike to be involved in as broad a range of activities and interests as possible.
Main responsibilities:
To prepare the dining rooms and kitchen ready for service
To assist with the preparation of and service of all meals and refreshments as directed by the Chef.
Maintenance of high standards of service in respect of food and beverages.
Promotion of good, pleasant customer relations in a professional manner.
To ensure the kitchen and dining rooms are cleared, cleaned, and maintained to a high standard during and after service.
Promotion of team working and a friendly working environment with colleagues.
To wash up, dry and store crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots, pans and utensils in a safe and hygienic manner.
To sweep, mop, wipe and clean floors, walls, tables and all kitchen surfaces.
Work within HACCP and HSE regulations at all times.
Demonstration of a professional, courteous and friendly attitude towards the pupils, staff and work colleagues at all times.
To carry out any other reasonable requests by the Chef, Front of House Manager or Foundation Head of Operations Manager.
To assist with school events outside of normal hours, with prior notice
Health and Safety:
All staff should be aware of the schools health and safety policy and implement it as appropriate. All staff are required to familiarise themselves with the relevant Risk Assessments ensuring that H&S policies are adhered to at all times to ensure our pupils safety and wellbeing.
Safeguarding:
All staff employed by Sedbergh School are expected to take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for whom they are responsible or with whom they come into contact.
