You could be a key part of our multi-disciplined healthcare team, providing individualised care for our patients in a prison environment. Our services include reception screening, providing agreed care packages, undertaking appropriate physical health observations, clinics such as Phlebotomy, ECG, NHS health checks, sexual health and health promotion.
You will need a good level of communication skills, be a team player and provide high standards of care to patients under the supervision of a qualified nurse/practitioner.
If you have NVQ level 2 or 3 and a good level of care experience, then we could have the perfect job for you!

Person Specification
Education and Training
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
* Additional skills and competencies within nursing achieved through accreditation with skills for health, First Steps Programme or universally recognised Higher Care certificate.
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of working with people with complex health needs.
* Knowledge of health of primary care, mental health and addiction support and an ability to work across these areas under supervision.
* Knowledge of nursing procedures and practices.
* Previous experience of using or accessing mental health services or caring for someone who has accessed services.
* Knowledge or experience of working within a prison environment.
* Experience of work in a multidisciplinary team setting.
* Experience in Accident and Emergency settings.
Skills and Abilities
* The ability to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of social inclusion and the Recovery Model.
* Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team and resolve potential conflict.
* The ability to use initiative and take responsibility for agreed appropriate tasks.
* The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team with the awareness of knowing when to seek support.
* The ability to use Systm 1 clinical records and Microsoft Word packages.
* The ability and skill to form positive therapeutic relationships.
* Support service users' own decision-making that builds on their strengths.
* Good patient assessment skills - knowledge of signs and symptoms of a range of mental and physical disorders and its effects on individuals.
* Ability to undertake ECG's.
* Experience in wound care and wound management.
* Experience in monitoring and support with the management of long term conditions.
