Our premium brand Automotive client is currently recruiting for the following role:
EV Regulations Lead Engineer - £30/hr (Inside IR35) - Warwickshire / Hybrid - 6 Months (potential for yearly renewal)
Division: Vehicle Engineering
Position Description:
1. Responsible for detailed understanding of current and future BEV Efficiency certification in major and developing markets.
2. Lead the creation and continuous improvement of certification Data Handling process and tools.
3. Have close interaction with compliance, legislation and certification teams.
Skills Required:
1. Strong technical engineering background with evidence of a methodical, structured approach to problem solving.
2. Strong communication skills and teamwork - ability to work cross-functionally with a wide range of customers at all levels.
3. Knowledge of vehicle efficiency EV certification methods, processes, and implementation (WLTP, EPA NAS, CLTC, UN ECE, as a minimum).
Experience Required:
1. Engineering qualification (academic or vocational) in Engineering or Pure sciences with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial experience.
2. Strong foundational knowledge of legislative cycles and regulations related to EV range homologation (WLTP GTR15, EPA 5-Cycle CFR 40 Part 600, CLTC GBT-2021, UNECE R101, R154, R83, etc.).
3. Strong knowledge of the mathematics needed to get to the efficiency/EV range declaration process of different legislation processes globally (WLTP & EPA NAS critical).
4. Experience interfacing with multiple stakeholders involved in the BEV range homologation process.
5. Knowledge and working understanding of data processes and exchanges that are involved across different teams to get to range/efficiency declaration.
6. Knowledge and/or experience of working with Agile operating principles.
7. A passion for the automotive industry and the potential of automotive technology.
Experience Preferred:
1. Knowledge and/or experience of component/rig testing methodologies related to vehicle efficiency.
2. Experience in the use of JIRA or similar task management platform.
3. Resilient and enthusiastic, an individual able to deliver results under pressure, whilst responding constructively to challenging new ideas and inputs.
This role is on a contract basis and is Inside IR35. Hybrid working: minimum 2 days in the office in Warwickshire.
