Systems Integration Engineer Staffordshire, UK £45 - 50k benefits This role would probably suit an engineer with 3-5 years of industry experience or more. IMPORTANT: Being a systems integration role, it will require practical engineering aptitude and experience and will involve time in the lab, workshop or in the field, performing physical hardware integration, test, problem solving and analysis activities. Key involvement: Systems design and analysis, including definition – electromechanical systems, control engineering, etc Systems integration, test, problem solving and validation – hands-on physical activities at vehicle level Working with external supplier and internal engineering teams for product design, development, validation, integration and test Hands-on engineering design, development and problem solving (use of tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, Labview etc) A background in design / development, test, validation or systems integration would be preferred (e.g. electronics, electrical, mechatronics etc) ideally gained within the automotive, avionics, aerospace, off highway machinery or similar industry. The role could suit a systems integration or systems test engneer, project engineer, electronics design engineer, or similar, with a broad engineering knowledge and interest in electromechanical / mechatronic products. The role will involve delivering new feature designs and product enhancements requiring a broad systems engineering appreciation from design and development through to systems integration, test and validation. Required experience / knowledge: Systems design Engineer 3-5 years of post-academic experience gained within the automotive, aerospace, electronics, mechatronics, or other similar product development environment. Experience with vehicle networks (e.g. CANbus) and relevant analysis tools (e.g. CANanlyzer, CANoe, Labview, etc) Ability to read and understand electric schematics and layouts A degree in a relevant field (e.g. electronics, computer science, mechatronics, automotive engineering) Experience of systems design and integration - electromechanical systems, control engineering preferred Good organisational and communication skills – able to facilitate design, validation, integration, etc Product development, test or validation experience having spent time working on or test of complex electromechanical systems (e.g. off highway machinery, automotive vehicle systems) Experience of electronics, electrical, software / control systems design for similar products Good practical engineering aptitude (e.g. software or hardware integration, hands-on problem solving, development of systems in a lab / workshop) Good problem solving and analysis skills Others (beneficial skills): Formal training within systems engineering, functional safety or FMEA would be useful Ability to develop and produce software / electronics / systems / test / validation requirements The role will require some hands-on support to design, development and integration activities (hardware / software) to ensure product features and systems meet product requirements. This will require engineering design / development knowledge but an appreciation for the greater system. The company designs and manufacturers a range of vehicles and machinery for the construction industry. These machines include a range of complex electromechanical / hydraulic control systems and safety features. This systems integration engineer role is based onsite and is commutable from Rocester, Stoke on Trent, Derby, Nottingham, Birmingham, Uttoxeter, Stafford, and Burton
