Description
Northland Controls Limited is looking for a Trainee Regional Design Engineer to join our team in Letchworth, UK. The Trainee Regional Design Engineer will work under the guidance of the Regional Lead Design Engineer. They are responsible for engaging in all assigned tasks and training to support skills and knowledge development, alongside delivery of client project work. The expectation is that after 2 years the trainee will qualify as a Level 1 Regional Design Engineer.
Responsibilities:
* Create, maintain and manage client design tools including template drawing files, approved material lists and document guides for basis of design.
* Develop security solutions for our clients that include product selection and application.
* Work with Northland cross-functional teams and lead the development and the adoption of global standards.
* Meet with interested parties including project managers and owners’ representatives to develop security plans in an iterative process.
* Maintain and manage the design log, client portfolios and client share point sites with relevant design information.
* Assign work to the global design centre and manage design timelines and schedules.
* Manage quality of design packages which include plans, BOMs, single line diagrams, elevations, and device details ensuring they are delivered to both client security standards and Northland Controls design standards.
* Provide clear, concise written and verbal communications in a timely manner at all stages of a project to all stakeholders.
* Knowledge in the installation of low voltage systems: physical security systems, life safety, network infrastructure, and related disciplines.
* Design coordination experience working with cross-functional teams with clients, architects, and contractors.
* Manage design engineering processes.
* Develop a design program, instituting collaboration processes, and creating design standards.
* Use Autodesk Products and other CAD software.
