activities?
HMP Featherstone is seeking a Family Day Support Worker to design and lead family day programs, creating memorable experiences for
families visiting loved ones. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant setting, where your ideas can
truly brighten family visits.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, Prepare, and Lead Activities: Develop engaging arts & crafts, entertainment, and activities for family days, held on
Fridays and one other day per month. This includes both the family day itself and preparation time the prior week.
2. Host and Manage a Tea Bar: Oversee a warm and welcoming tea bar, offering refreshments and a space for families to relax and
connect.
3. Create a Fun & Welcoming Environment: Foster an atmosphere that makes families feel at ease, helping to strengthen connections
during their visit.
4. Coordinate Entertainment: Arrange and supervise light entertainment suitable for all ages, ensuring a positive and inclusive
experience.
5. Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with HMP Featherstone staff to align activities with safety protocols and event goals.
What We’re Looking For:
Creativity and Enthusiasm: A love for hands-on arts & crafts, entertainment, and creating joyful experiences for families.
Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to engage with families of all ages in a friendly and professional manner.
Organisation and Attention to Detail: Capable of planning and executing events, managing supplies, and setting up spaces.
Experience with Family or Community Events: Prior experience coordinating events or family programs is a plus.
