Job summary This Post will provide support to the Financial Accountant in providing a comprehensive financial support service to the Finance Team. In particular administering and maintaining the Accounts Receivable (AR) system, actively reviewing the Trust Debtors and ensuring their timely collection: this will include providing assistance and advice to internal and external stakeholders. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for the collation of debtor information and the interaction with other NHS organisations and Government Bodies. The post holder will ensure financial information is processed in accordance with procedures, in order to efficiently complete statutory returns in relation to own area of work and the work of other team members. Main duties of the job Actively review the debtors schedules to identify outstanding debts. Follow up actions will include initiating and managing difficult and sensitive communications with debtors in a professional and courteous manner. This could include repeat and follow up conversations, writing letters, and the monitoring of payment plans. When dealing with patient or salary overpayment debts this should be carried out in an empathetic and sensitive manner. Responsible for supervising other staff who undertake debt collection tasks. Issue debtors and income statements to NHS organisations and Government Bodies in line with Welsh Government timetable. Discuss and resolve discrepancies to ensure agreement is reached within strict deadlines. Ability to work under pressure is required. Complete debtors section of Welsh Government Monthly Monitoring Returns within strict deadlines, identify issues and liaise with relevant divisions and external debtors. This post is Fixed Term/Secondment for 6 months due to the needs of the service.
