Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per year (dependent on experience)

We are looking for an Assistant Building Surveyor to join our team at Align Property Services in Cumbria.
You will collaborate with a team of Building Surveyors working to deliver on Schools and Corporate Maintenance programmes across the local authorities in Cumbria. Your work will help ensure that educational facilities and workplaces for the community are safe, modern, and efficient. Additionally, you'll support capital works projects aimed at developing and revitalising communities throughout the county.

As an Assistant Building Surveyor:
You will draw on your knowledge from completing your HNC/HND in Building Surveying, developing your skills in offering a variety of services including those relating to building pathology, design, building surveys and contract administration.
You will play an essential part of a busy and professional team, providing the best and most cost-effective solutions for our client’s varied property portfolio. You will be able to work successfully within a highly competitive market, demonstrating strong and efficient performance capabilities, with a focus on service excellence and client satisfaction.
To be successful in this role, you will:
* Hold an HNC/HND in Building Surveying
* Produce, submit and manage planning, building regulation and listed building applications.
* Produce schedules of work and specifications using NBS software and other documentation
* Coordinate deliverables and work collaboratively with other disciplines including Architects, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and CDM Advisors.
* Visit sites to attend meetings, carry out inspections and surveys when required.
* Carry out project design and complete H&S risk assessments to meet current CDM regulation requirements.
* Be committed to maintaining an annual programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
* Carry out building surveys and write building survey reports and Schedules of Condition
* Have a full UK driving license and ability to travel when required.
