Clarke & Carter are looking for a Yacht Broker to join our team at our office based at Suffolk Yacht Harbour, Levington, IP10 0LN. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sailing or boating and have some experience on the water. Previous yacht broking experience is not necessary - you can be taught how to be a yacht broker, you can't be taught how to love boats and our business is built on a passion for what we do. We sell over 180 boats a year and you will be expected to get involved with every aspect of boat sales from finding new listings, photographing boats and preparing the sales particulars, handling enquiries and conducting viewings and conducting sea trials right through to ensuring all the paperwork for a sale is completed correctly. You will have excellent written communication skills, be comfortable picking up the phone to customers and a very high attention to detail. We are a small, agile team so people with entrepreneurial ideas will be able to flourish and put their ideas forward to help develop the business. We pride ourselves on the high quality presentation of our brokerage listings using drone photography and professionally edited videos. The ideal candidate for this role will have a demonstrated ability in this area and look to take some ownership of our social media channels and content creation. Clarke & Carter also sell new boats for Jeanneau and Quicksilver, two of the biggest brands in the world so you will have the opportunity to sell these fantastic new boats too which will involve attending boat shows in the UK. Our offices are open six days a week and you will be required to work some Saturdays, receiving an additional day off in lieu. Clarke & Carter were established in 1979 and you would be joining one of the most recognisable names in the marine industry so we are looking for candidates who take pride in their work. We will give you all the tools you need for a successful career in this fantastic sector. This would be an ideal role for a recent school leaver or graduate looking to take their first steps into the marine industry or just someone looking for a change in career. Applicants will need to hold a full UK driving license as you will need to be able to drive to other marinas in the region. We have company vans which you will be insured on to drive. RYA Powerboat Level 2 and/or any other RYA Qualifications would be useful. Salary guide is £22,500-£25,000 with a potential for a discretionary bonus. Unlike a lot of brokerages, we work on salary only without sales targets or commission paid on top. It makes for a much more collaborative team environment and a better service to our customers.
