Conservation Officer role summary: Assist in SVLNR operational management, develop and implement management plans, deliver biodiversity projects, and engage with stakeholders to promote conservation objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in day-to-day operational management of SVLNR, including monitoring maintenance programmes and undertaking daily maintenance activity.
* Develop and operate adopted management plans and site-specific guidance.
* Deliver biodiversity creation and enhancement projects through contractors and community groups.
* Engage with government agencies, local authorities, landowners, businesses, schools, community groups, and volunteers to deliver management plan objectives.
* Set operational standards and services to exceptional levels, working with the Friends Group to deliver site and ecological improvement projects.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths.
* HNC in Environmental Studies or Countryside Management or similar, or relevant experience in the sector.
* Current full driving licence (Minimum Cat B).
* Experience of habitat creation techniques, ecological improvement projects, work programme and budget management, ecological surveys, and working with volunteers.
* Knowledge of biodiversity and nature conservation, Black Country habitats, wildlife, and wild places, habitat management, species and habitat identification, and good organisational and time management skills.

Contract Type: Full Time, 37 Hours per week, Fixed Term Contract, 14 months
Salary: £29,093 - £32,654 per annum (Grade 5)
