PURPOSE As a Supply Chain Specialist you are required to perform the various demand planning requirements on behalf of the banks. Cashlogix performs an operational function but there is also an expectation for the function to add value through continuous improvement. A key focus area of this role is to support continuous improvement for the function as well as for the industry. This position will also assist with planning when required as well as training of the new planners. You will engage with the following stakeholders: • Internal and External Stakeholders Your key responsibilities include: Demand Planning (40%) • Statistical and trend analysis in order to generate daily forecasts for customer demand. • Analyse economic trends related to the planning environment to ensure robust plans. • Establish collaborative forecast planning meetings with key stakeholders (Retail banks, 3’rd Party Cash Centres, SARB) to ensure alignment. • Continuous analysis and improvement of forecast accuracy. • Develop Forecast KPI scorecard for the demand planning environment and keep planning team and banks accountable. • Implement and lead demand planning reviews as part of the "Sales and Operations Planning" process • Provide business and industry with long term demand view to understand capacity and resource requirements for the cash industry. • Generate monthly SARB forecasts in line with the agreed accuracy levels. • Implement best practice for the demand planning function in terms of processes and systems. Continuous Improvement (40%) • Review company’s business processes for enhancing effectiveness and benchmark with Industry Best Practice • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to implement C.I. initiatives to drive cost reduction and service delivery across the business • Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to change behaviour to drive process improvement in a positive manner • Compile the business case for improvements as well as track the value realised vs initiatives Processes o Team member of industry initiatives o Identify Cashlogix requirements o Identify process integration requirements. o Ensure system and enhancements will be to the benefit of industry. o Propose process enhancements that will improve industry efficiencies and automation. o Ensure process are supported through new system modules and enhancements. • Conduct market research focusing on innovative ways of customer service, cost reduction and implement within the industry and/or department • Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance the quality, efficiency and output Planning (20%) • Assist with planning from time to time when required, eg • Assist with training of new planners and oversee until they are ready to plan on their own. • Planning Functions • Feeds forecasting data into specific software that produce recommended planning solutions • Analyse, evaluate and amend system recommendations based on cash optimisation, principles, rules and regulations such as: o Keeping cluster NHTO levels within set target o Manage Centre Limits o Settlement rules and regulations o GL rules and regulations o Utilisation of various centre vaults o Cash Moves coordination o NHTO rules and regulation o Centre targets o Cash demand o Peak period demands o Cash movement rules and regulations o Equipment failure o Inter-branch costs • Submit recommendations to applicable host centre manager for acceptance and comments. • Evaluate suggested recommendations from planning system and centre manager and make applicable adjustments • Deliver optimized sorting plan as per system plan within respective cluster • Keep cluster GL’s within the stipulated limits and targets • Ensure that there is sufficient Cash at the various clusters based on the Forecast • Ensure soil notes are cleared efficiently and economically. • CIT Planning o Issue CIT movement on vehicles thereby allocating and coordinating deliveries to CIT companies o Track, monitor and change plans when necessary o Co-ordinate cash flow between Centres and make changes to plan accordingly o Ensure that load status and tracking is current, and any delays need to be communicated or alternate arrangements must be made. QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE • Engineering (Hons) / Bsc/BTech • SAPICS certification- advantageous EXPERIENCE • 3 years in a Supply Chain environment • Planning • Forecasting • Continuous Improvement • Experience with ERP/Planning/Planning systems • Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite • Cash Supply Chain - advantageous
