Make your experience count, join Derbyshire Constabulary
At Derbyshire Constabulary we pride ourselves on recognising people with real potential. That’s why we offer our officers so much support, motivation and training because, as they improve, so will our force.
If you are an accredited Detective Constable, with skills and experience in managing a range of complex investigations, we would love to hear from you. For experienced detectives we have opportunities across our crime directorate. As your career develops, we will be able to provide you with opportunities to join our renowned regional unit (the East Midlands Special Operations Unit) dealing with Major Crime, Serious and Organised Crime and Counter-Terrorism across five forces. We are investing in our response to online abuse, high tech crime, foreign national offending and historic child sex abuse and there will be future opportunities in these areas too.
Derbyshire is a predominantly rural area which includes large parts of the Peak District National Park, offering opportunities for an outdoor lifestyle and an enhanced quality of life. However, we also have vibrant urban centres in the city of Derby and the town of Chesterfield and our central location, with excellent transport links and trains taking you to London in 90 minutes, suits those who also enjoy the city life or like to escape and travel on their rest days.
Whether you want to specialise in a particular area of policing, or progress through the ranks, our experienced leaders can help you to reach your goals. All you have to do is bring us your talent, dedication and enthusiasm and we’ll welcome you to the team.
If you are high performing and looking for a new challenge, then this could be the place for you.
