Main Areas of Responsibility The main areas of responsibility will be: Supporting the consistent implementation of the academy behaviour policy The calm and purposeful movement around the academy between lessons Following through any issues to do with behaviour as required Mentoring students on PSPs Operating within the Duty Principal on call rota Managing students who are showing socially unacceptable or challenging behaviour Maintaining standards of behaviour for all faculties and command a presence through corridor patrols and lesson drop-ins Monitoring and reporting on attendance, punctuality and behaviour statistics Meeting weekly with the Attendance Officer to ensure targets are met Following up on any truancy and attendance concerns Supporting academy colleagues to run the truancy bus Reporting attendance and punctuality concerns at Faculty Meetings Supporting tutors to improve standards of attendance/punctuality Meeting with Parents/Carers of students that are failing to meet Academy expectations Coordinating the timely completion of accurate and consistent tutor reports Meeting with Assistant Principal responsible for SEND to identify early students potentially requiring support of EHCP Ensuring issues that relate to student safety are investigated and passed on to academy colleagues in a timely manner Assisting in monitoring the academic, social and emotional wellbeing of students Liaising with Parents/Carers and outside agencies and attending meetings Promoting positive values, attitudes and good student behaviour Establishing productive working relationships with students Maintaining daily contact with assigned students Working in partnership with colleagues to deliver effective interventions and support for students A full list of responsibilities can be found in the Job Pack. Qualifications & Experience We would like to hear from you if you have: Qualifications to A level or equivalent Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviours Knowledge of some of the social issues facing students from disadvantaged backgrounds Awareness of Health and Safety issues in the workplace Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students Experience of establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders, at all levels Experience of managing and being responsible for own workload Please download the Job Pack for a full person specification.
