Location: Doncaster / Scunthorpe
Salary: £35-40,000 negotiable, private cash/health plan
Full-Time Permanent Hours: Monday-Thursday 8 am - 4.30 pm, Friday 8 am - 3.30 pm
Expected to assist with early and late hours from time to time.
Position Overview:
Experienced Quality Manager to provide clear leadership for the development of an environment focused on Quality. Working for a very established and reputable manufacturing firm in the Joinery Construction sector, dealing with commercial joinery projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop Quality Management system, including ISO14001 / ISO 9001, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Controls Plans, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) processes, overseeing continued compliance and embedding across the business.
2. Maintain relationships with customers and suppliers to maximize profit and potential while ensuring efficiency.
3. Manage the audit program as well as supplier development and improvement, playing a key role in ensuring project deliveries.
4. Work proactively with all Directors, Managers, Supervisors, and Employees to maintain a program of continual improvement within their areas of responsibility.
5. Lead a correct-at-source and problem-solving methodology (Lean) and lead the team to achieve quality targets for customers and business goals.
6. Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
7. Contribute to new business initiatives and projects, reviewing and communicating the impact on Quality activities.
8. Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System and ensure compliance.
9. Ensure all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised, and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies.
10. Respond to customer complaints, putting in containment actions, conducting full analysis, and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures.
11. Update quality documentation and communicate to carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns in new customer contracts.
12. Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits.
13. Train others in all aspects of the quality system and application procedures.
14. Undertake internal and process audits of the Quality Management System.
15. Ensure maintenance is carried out correctly and on time, ensuring safety and cleanliness.
16. Lead regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving build quality.
17. Produce written reports and make presentations, ensuring Health and Safety practices are observed.
18. Any other reasonable duties that might arise to assist the company in attaining its business objectives.
