Job Title: Speech & Language Therapist - Pontypool Banding: 6 Location: Pontypool Start: ASAP Duration: Full time Salary: £ 32,244 Working hours: 40hours per week 8:30am-16:30pm, 39 weeks per year We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech & Language Therapist to join our specialist day college in Pontypool. This role involves working with 22 pupils aged 16-25 years who have a broad range of physical and learning disabilities, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). You will play a key role in ensuring that students gain the skills and confidence to communicate effectively as part of their journey towards living as independently as possible. What will your responsibilities be : Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate therapy programmes for learners with complex communication needs to support their development and learning. Promote the development of students’ communication skills across the college, supporting wider learning, and taking an active role in the development of new provisions. Accurately record all therapeutic interventions. Complete complex assessments, pre-college assessments, and, if appropriately trained, dysphagia assessments where required. Provide supervision and support to SLTs. Offer professional advice, training, and information to college staff.
