Job summary This is an opportunity for an experienced and skilled counsellor to join our team. You will be working in a supportive team environment where you can benefit from flexible working whilst supporting people from diagnosis onward on their cancer journey, alongside their families and carers, providing psychological counselling support. You will be based within Pembrokeshire across two sites, and will require experience working autonomously within community settings and be established in homeworking. Furthermore, the applicant will need to be willing to travel to other sites across the Health Board within all the three counties of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.The CaPS Service offers talking therapy via a blended model of engagement, such as online, telephone, text and face to face counselling support. Main duties of the job The successful applicant will become an integral member of the team. We offer flexible working arrangements in return we ask for your flexibility in meeting service need. We provide a high level of supervision and caseload management support in light of the complexities of supporting patients, families and their carers throughout their cancer journey. For continued professional development, we keep an eye on learning opportunities both in- house and externally. You will be working within the CaPS service providing counselling and psychological support to patients, their families and carers. You will be conducting assessments and provide one- to- one counselling support, alongside facilitating group support. You will be required to work alongside and in partnership with other Healthcare professionals and Cancer Services within the Health Board. This role requires a high degree of autonomous working whilst fostering a positive and pro-active approach to team working. The applicant is required to provide counselling support in community and hospital settings. Homeworking is an intrinsic part of this role, and working digitally with clients who access the service.
