The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students. To apply, you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. We are looking to recruit a User Experience (UX) and Research Assistant as part of a funded research innovation project and business partnership that explores the use of sensors in games for healthcare applications. This is a live project where you will liaise with a business throughout the project.
The role involves facilitating UX testing on campus through recognised practices on an early version of the product. The results of the experiment will help guide the future design and development of the product. The UI and UX Research Assistant will be responsible for facilitating UX testing and helping design the participant protocol within a set deadline. Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate UX testing and assist in the design of participant protocols.
* Plan and prioritise work and resources within the research project framework.
* Conduct literature and database searches using standard techniques and methods.
* Write up results of own research and prepare for presentation to the research team and relevant stakeholders.
* Contribute to the production of research reports and publications.
* Develop appropriate techniques to facilitate research work and resolve problems.
* Present research to the team and in appropriate articles for publication.
* Participate in internal and external partnerships and networks.
* Engage with quality assurance procedures to uphold University standards.
* Collaborate with academic colleagues on research development.
* Actively participate as a member of the research team.
* Attend Faculty, Department and Programme meetings/boards.
* Introduce new starters to the area and provide training on basic skills.
Minimum Requirements
* Final year undergraduate students (Level 5) and postgraduate students.
* Experience of UX testing - evidenced through education or practice.
* Ability to work independently.
* Strong communication skills.
