Responsibilities
1. Successfully deliver Interior Electronics / Switch Controls for various product lines within the business.
2. Technical ownership of various Interior Electronics / Switch Controls through engineering, development, integration, and validation of various electrical modules (ECUs, Sensors, and Actuators, etc.) into the overall vehicle electrical architecture in collaboration with Functional Departments, technical partners, and Tier 1 suppliers.
3. Own commodity attributes such as Quality, Costs, Timing, Homologation, and Weight, ensuring they are within business targets.
4. Own engineering sign-off of the electrical components through the development process of DFMEA, DFA, DFM, DVP&R, Test & Validation, EMC, FuSa, and Cyber Security.
5. Work closely with other departments such as Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Programs, Logistics, Service, and workshops.
6. Represent Electrical in project engineering reviews and represent GMT in external working groups relating to the responsible components / ECUs.
Qualifications & Experience
1. Minimum 7 years of experience in automotive Interior Electronics / Switch Packs development.
2. Good understanding of the Automotive New Product Development Process, milestones, and deliverables for each phase.
3. Demonstrable experience of electrical component development and manufacture for multiple projects.
4. Working knowledge of CAN, FlexRay, automotive ethernet, LIN networks, and vehicle diagnostics.
5. Working knowledge of relevant homologation standards, ISO, and EuroNCAP.
6. Understanding of Functional Safety and Cyber Security requirements for a global market vehicle.
7. Notable experience in using various engineering development tools (Polarion, JIRA, etc.) and collaborative platforms such as Microsoft Office.
8. Honor's Degree in Electrical & Electronics, or a similar area such as Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive, acceptable with relevant experience in the field.
9. Other recognized engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered.
10. Additional professional qualifications and Project Management experience are desired.
11. Possession of a full driving license is essential.
12. Articulate, self-motivated, and able to work well on own initiative to achieve goals & objectives.
13. Good problem-solving and critical thinking mindset to create reports and metrics with supporting data.
14. Excellent communication skills at all levels of business internally and externally with partners and suppliers.
15. Positive but flexible attitude to achieve business goals and milestones.
