More about your role
This a senior leader role and is a key strategic role within Places Leisure. The role carries ultimate responsibility for the technical department within the Leisure business, ensuring full legal compliance across all operations. This includes overseeing the management of 7 PFI contracts, which are long-term lease agreements. The role also includes managing the energy purchasing and consumption portfolio, valued at £15 million. In collaboration with the wider PFP organisation the individual in this position will work to reduce environmental impacts, including waste, single-use plastics (SUPs), and CO2 emissions, while also developing and introducing new products to drive cost savings and reduce our carbon footprint. Working with our Local Authority partners on decarbonisation measures and investigation funding opportunities
In addition, the role will involve overseeing the purchase, management, and implementation of utilities best practices across the company, ensuring the achievement of consumption savings. The individual will also provide support to PFP on any technical Leisure-related matters. Staying current with new legislation and innovations concerning both technical and environmental issues is crucial, as is providing regular guidance and briefs to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and PPF. The role requires the implementation of relevant updates and recommendations as necessary to ensure continued improvement and compliance.

Essential Criteria
* Wealth of experience within a Head of Facilities/Head of Asset Management role within the Leisure industry
* Able to prepare and deliver specifications, reports, detailed surveys and prepare and deliver training seminars and workshops.
* To be able to deliver EGS across multiple leisure facilities

You should have proven expertise in financial planning, analysis, and budget-setting, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical reasoning skills. You must be able to negotiate, research, present, and stay organised while fostering business partnerships to provide financial guidance to frontline teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for building strong relationships with senior business leaders. You should be adept at managing competing workloads, meeting tight deadlines, and prioritising tasks. Experience in automating and improving finance processes is key, as well as the ability to identify problems and execute solutions. A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with several years of experience is required, along with proficiency in financial modelling, Power BI, SQL, and advanced Excel.
Will require a flexible approach work and regular travel is an essential part of the role to support our Leisure Centres
