We are a metal fabricator who manufactures and supplies perforated metal products for building and construction, based in Warrington. We are looking for a Junior Buyer to join our team.
You will have previously been actively involved in buying and building relationships with suppliers. You will have worked with a buying team or manager and understand that a lot of your role is speaking to suppliers and managing timelines, quantities, and prices.
Building and maintaining supplier relationships is an important part of the role, and this is something you will take to naturally and enjoy through daily communication.
The role is based in an office. We are an integral part of a bigger business. You will report daily and work alongside the senior buyer, and together you will talk to suppliers and clients, nurture relationships, and manage prices and deadlines.
Your Day To Day Role Will Involve:
* Building and maintaining positive, long-term relationships with suppliers.
* Researching new suppliers and making recommendations to the Purchasing Manager.
* Obtaining quotes for materials requested by the Sales department in line with Customer RFQ.
* Evaluating quotes and negotiating prices and delivery with a focus on achieving the best price and quality.
* Raising Purchase Orders, Call Off orders, and maintaining them in Oracle MRP / ERP system.
* Progressing orders to ensure specified dates are met and the correct items and quantities are received.
* Updating and maintaining internal databases and ERP system with records of orders, deliveries, invoices, contracts, and supplier approvals.
* Identifying and maintaining quality standard requirements and ensuring all products meet the required standards (ISO 9001 & 14001).
* Communicating supply chain delays and risks with key stakeholders.
* Monitoring inventory, including stock take planning and participation.
* Supporting production personnel with the efficient running of the production office.
* Generating intercompany purchase orders for raw material and consumables.
* Being responsible for all factory MROs / factory and office consumables.
* Performing any other administration duties required by the manager.
Is this you?
You will be customer-focused, articulate on the phone, organized, and proficient with Word, Excel, and Access. Use of Oracle MRP/ERP is beneficial. You will be commercially sound, driven, and have aspirations for a role within buying.
Working as a key member of our team will give you many benefits - these include:

* Holidays are 25 days per calendar year, plus bank holidays.
* Starting Pay is £12.21 PH.
