Position
An opportunity has arisen for a General Practice Pharmacy Technician at North HSCP.
What you will do:
You will use and develop your expertise working as part of a multidisciplinary practice team in conjunction with the Primary Care General Practice Clinical Pharmacists. As part of developing the role of the pharmacy technician, the role also involves supporting the work of the Primary and Community Care Pharmacy Team developments in prescribing software, databases, electronic formularies, supporting technician reviews, specials monitoring etc.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You will have good understanding of medicines (either through qualification or demonstrable experience), IT skills and communication skills, to work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team. The post requires some clinical knowledge, good communication and organisational skills, along with the ability to work with patients and other healthcare professionals.
You will be a qualified pharmacy technician with SQA National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences and SVQ level 3 Pharmacy Services, or have an equivalent qualification. You should hold membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council if you are a registered pharmacy technician. Additionally you should demonstrate a commitment to Continuous Professional Development.
Applications for a Band 4 post will be considered for newly qualified pharmacy technicians.

Hours:
37 per week
In future, in accordance with Agenda for Change terms and conditions, you may be required to work over 7 days and/or an extended working day.
