We are currently recruiting for a Weighbridge Operative to join the team at Leaton Quarry, Shropshire.
The successful candidate will effectively and efficiently carry out all duties associated with the operation and manning of the weighbridge.
Please note, this role is being offer on a Fixed Term basis of 6 months, with the potential to go permanent. You will be based full time on site, working alternative weekends. No night working will be required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Weighing in and out of materials and recording all necessary information for invoicing
2. Directing goods inwards to correct stockpile/location
3. Control the entry to site of all customers, lorries and visitors
4. Record time of despatch and return of trucks bringing raw materials to site
5. Ensure the general working of the weighbridge area, including the upkeep and cleanliness of equipment and workstations
6. Following training, undertaking a variety of site inspections (Environmental and/or Health and Safety), reporting defects and issues to the site manager
Customer Service
7. Take telephone orders from customers/record orders in diary
8. Keep customers aware of any delays
9. Ensure customer accounts in order before customer permitted to load
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
10. Excellent communication skills including oral communication, especially with customers on the telephone as well as in person with delivery personnel and drivers.
11. Organised and analytical in order to successfully operate the Weighbridge computer package.
12. Confidence and Interpersonal skills are important in order to deal with the diverse range of contacts. Previous experience in this type of role would be a distinct advantage but training will be provided for the right candidate.
13. Good numeracy skills are required for quick and accurate data processing.
14. Working with all members of the team to continually raise the Health, Safety and Environmental standards of the Company.
