Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Deputy House Manager to work alongside the House Manager and team to create a strong, dynamic, and inclusive working environment. The ideal candidate will be an ambassador of and follow-up on all Ronald McDonald House Charities UK policies, assist with producing and managing House budgets and take responsibility for the House operations in the House Manager’s absence. Together with the House Manager, they will help establish and develop community and fundraising partnerships. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service with previous experience of line management. This role is pivotal in maintaining high standards within the organisation and fostering a positive environment for both staff and customers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coaching and leading a team of people and supporting roles to balance the challenge of communal living and creating a supportive home-from-home environment
2. Working with the team to allocate rooms and standardise family introductions to the House
3. Coordinating administration and operational duties within the team
4. Establishing and developing valuable donor relationships, ensuring all fundraising opportunities are explored and passed on appropriately
5. Working to an agreed budget and understanding the importance of maintaining tight controls within the House
6. Ensuring personnel files are accurate and complying with Charity and legal regulations
7. Understanding and following policies and procedures for the House’s key control system
8. Overseeing full and proper use of database systems
9. Managing the House team schedule
10. Managing House volunteers
11. Being involved in House events and activities
12. Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
13. Being fully flexible to provide on-call duties on a regular basis to be shared with the House Manager
Skills and Abilities
1. Ability to manage a team to achieve high standards of House operations and build and maintain relationships
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confident in communicating with a wide range of audiences
3. Good IT skills
4. Be able to show empathy while maintaining professional boundaries
5. Demonstrates an understanding of and maintains the principles of confidentiality
6. Ambitious, self-motivated and enthusiastic
7. Understands or willing to learn medical terminology most frequently used by resident families

Pay: £29,250.00 per year
