An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer – Electrical Systems to join the Electrical department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment. About the role To work in the Electrical Systems Team to develop battery and electrical systems requirements and architectures used in various products ranging from on road vehicles, Truck, utility vehicles and boats. What you will do Take on responsibilities for systems requirements definition within the Electrical team. Generating system and component requirements, based on features lists and cascaded project requirements and attributes. Develop electrical Architectures Assist with the development and fault-finding of the systems. Assist with DFMEA and HAZOPS to ensure detection of faults across the various components. Preparation and presentation of reports for internal and external audiences. Support technical and project reviews with the customer, representing Fortescue Zero, as required. Maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and all other departments. Understand and work to Fortescue Zero, Customer, Industry and Legislative standards. Provide guidance and support to lees experienced team members. About you Essential Considerable experience and proven track record in electrical integration within the Automotive, Autosport or Off highway Industries. Degree in relevant engineering discipline or extensive in job experience. Experience of Requirements Capture Tools, such as Siemens Polarion or IBM Rational Doors Has experience in using CANoe or CANalyzer. Experience of Electric Vehicles – HV charging, HV battery and HV powertrain systems Good understanding of On Vehicle networks. The ability to work flexibly to strict deadlines. Preferred Experience of Electric Vehicles – HV charging, HV battery and HV powertrain systems Has a knowledge of HV components, for example, fuses, contactors, current sensors. Has an understanding of functional Safety and ISO26262. What is in it for you?
