This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people in care. You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality social work services to children and families, ensuring their safety and well-being. Role Summary: As a Social Worker in the LAC Team, you will work directly with looked-after children, young people, and their families, ensuring that their needs are met in a timely and effective manner. You will manage a complex caseload, complete assessments, and develop care plans while working collaboratively with a range of professionals to deliver the best possible outcomes for the children and families you support. Key Responsibilities: Complete assessments, care planning, and reviews for looked-after children. Develop and implement plans that meet the needs and outcomes of children and young people. Ensure that children and young people are safeguarded and their welfare is promoted. Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams to support positive outcomes. Attend and participate in court proceedings and reviews. Work with children and young people to understand their needs and ensure they are heard and their views considered. Liaise with other agencies and service providers to deliver integrated care. Skills and Experience Required: Social Work Degree (BA or MA in Social Work). HCPC Registration as a qualified social worker. Proven experience working with children and families, specifically in a Looked After Children setting. Excellent knowledge of Child Protection and Looked After Children (LAC) legislation. Ability to assess and manage complex cases. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work collaboratively with various agencies. Ability to effectively manage your time and caseload, working autonomously when required. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Basic Qualifications Required: Social Work Degree (BA or MA in Social Work). HCPC Registration as a qualified social worker. Post-qualification experience in working with Looked After Children or children’s social services. Enhanced DBS Check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
