Join the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH) and play a key role in driving innovative, impactful storytelling that highlights the importance of environmental science in tackling the world’s biggest challenges.
We are seeking a talented and dynamic Digital and Creative Manager to lead a small team and play a key role in producing high-quality, engaging content – including compelling video and social media content – to showcase UKCEH’s world-leading environmental science.
As the Digital and Creative Manager, you will combine leadership and hands-on creative expertise to manage and contribute to a range of multimedia projects.
You’ll work closely with the Head of Communications & Engagement along with communications managers across internal, external, and programme communications, to ensure the effective delivery of engaging content while building a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Your main responsibilities will include:

* Hands-On Creative Work: Play an active role in producing creative content, including storyboarding, filming, and editing video content and supporting the development of multimedia assets for use across all communications channels.
* Workflow Management: Develop workflows, allocate resources effectively, and ensure project priorities align with organisational goals.
* Oversee Social Media & Website Content: Work closely with the External Communications team to ensure UKCEH’s social media channels and website are engaging and aligned with key messages.
* Collaborate with Internal Communications: Work closely with the internal communications team to develop content to engage our UKCEH community across multiple sites.
* Collaborate with External Communications: Work closely with External Communications teams to develop content that supports stakeholder engagement, events, and media.
* Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with science teams and enabling functions across the organisation to create impactful content that tells the story of UKCEH’s environmental science and impact.
* Metrics & Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the performance of digital and social media content, using analytics and audience insights to refine strategies and demonstrate key performance indicators, defined with the Head of Comms & Engagement.
* Ensure Quality & Brand Consistency: Maintain high standards across all creative outputs and ensure they align with brand guidelines including visual identity and tone of voice.
* Innovate and Inspire: Stay up to date with trends in digital media and creative technologies, introducing new ideas to improve content quality and engagement.
* Provide Training and Mentorship: Support the development of team members by identifying training and offering guidance and mentorship.
