About the role:
We are now recruiting a 'Development Manager' to join our property team on a permanent basis. This role will be home-based with no daily requirement to attend the office, but the appointed candidate will be required to attend meetings across our North West offices (Didsbury, Liverpool, and Accrington) as the business requires.
The purpose of this role is to lead on implementing the Growth Strategy and to source and appraise new opportunities in line with the organisation’s development and growth strategies to support the delivery of development programme targets. To create and maintain excellent relationships with key partners including local authorities, Homes England, developers, contractors, and agents. To lead on establishing formal partnerships and JVs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Growth: Identify and appraise new development opportunities in collaboration with the Pre-Construction Manager.
* Partnerships: Enhance and improve on existing relationships with partner agencies and identify new partnership opportunities.
* Procurement: Ensure effective procurement and management of consultants and contractors.
* Project Delivery: Identify development projects in accordance with the development brief.
* Reporting: Maintain accurate development pipeline reports and assist with the preparation of written and financial reports.
* Management, Leadership, and Culture: Manage budgets, resources, and priorities to meet performance targets.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
Essential:
* Detailed understanding of housing development from inception to completion.
* Demonstrable experience in new business, land, and property acquisition.
* Experience of appraising multi-tenure projects.
* Relevant understanding of the development process.
* Commitment to deliver exceptional customer service.
* Knowledge of building construction and contract management.
* Experience managing complex development budgets.
* Experience building strong relationships with partners and stakeholders.
* Experience managing staff to set and deliver on targets.
* A Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own car.
Desirable:
* Experience of establishing and delivering formal development partnerships and JVs.
Qualifications:
Essential:
* Degree Level Qualified.
Desirable:
* Professional qualification in a property-related specialism.
