W Talent Manufacturing is continuing its partnership with a market-leading packaging manufacturing company based in Scunthorpe, who are looking to recruit a days-based Production Manager, working Monday to Friday. Our client is seeking a highly skilled, organised, and driven Production Manager, ideally with a strong background in packaging, paper, print, or plastics. This is a pivotal role for the business, which is currently experiencing a growth curve due to increased demand for its products. The successful candidate will oversee a new 3-shift pattern, operating 24 hours a day, five days a week, and managing all on-site production processes, currently consisting of 3 team leaders and 45 production staff. Key Responsibilities: The Production Manager will be based at their main site in Scunthorpe and will play an integral role in overseeing all production deliverables, reporting directly to the site Head of Operations. You will be responsible for providing effective leadership to manufacturing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation. You will also: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all manufacturing operations and implement a robust safety protocol to mitigate workplace hazards and promote a safe working environment. Identify talent gaps and develop training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of manufacturing personnel. Develop comprehensive production plans aligned with organisational goals and market demands. Coordinate with various departments to ensure raw material availability and smooth workflow execution. Identify areas for process improvement to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and streamline operations. Foster a culture of continuous improvement among manufacturing teams through training, feedback, and empowerment. Establish and enforce stringent quality control measures to uphold product quality and meet regulatory standards. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to investigate and resolve any deviations or non-conformities promptly. Key Requirements: Proven track record in a Production or Manufacturing Manager position. Five years in a similar role within an FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally packaging, paper, print, or plastics. A proven people leader of teams over 40 across multiple shifts. A NEBOSH qualification is advantageous but not essential. Expertise in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify opportunities for improvement. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills at all levels of the business. What's on Offer: Competitive salary, £47,500-£52,500.
