Teaching Personnel are working with a number of Trafford based secondary schools that are looking to recruit prospective future teachers who can fulfil the role of a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to start with them during the next term and a half through to the new academic year. The successfully appointed future teacher(s) would start with the school in March/April or perhaps during the summer term but no later than the end of September as students bed in to the new year.
The school is keen to set someone up this year so they can learn the school’s ethos and culture. The plan would be to then support the new cohort of year 7s. This school has a direct link with an Initial Teacher Training Programme where the successful LSAs could progress onto their SCITT (School Centred Teacher Training) following a year supporting within the school. There are a number of opportunities for graduates given multiple requirements at this school.
The school is looking for confident, astute, adaptable, and motivated graduates who are aspirational future teachers able to utilise previous transferable experience.
Key aspects of the Future Teacher: Learning Support Assistant role:
* Full time Learning Support Assistant required: graduate level education required
* Pay range dependent upon experience and qualification: earn up to £1800 per month
* Provide support and intervention to year 7s as well as work within a specific subject area
* Academic school with a large cohort of students identified as excelling students and gifted and talented
* LSA required for the summer term with the option to progress onto a school based contract on a teacher training programme from next year
Requirements:
* Have a vested interest in schools and in gaining further experience as a prospective teacher
* Graduates who have experience of supporting students are highly encouraged to apply
The school is located in the central Manchester area, making it very easy to access via the M60 motorway network or for those travelling from Levenshulme, Longsight, Didsbury, and Chorlton via public transport. The school is a fairly large sized secondary school with the successful Learning Support Assistant being supported throughout their placement at the school.
If you are a graduate of any degree discipline with experience of supporting students (desirable but not essential) in any capacity or with prior experience fulfilling the role of a LSA, TA, Learner Mentor, or Graduate Mentor, then apply now with your latest CV.
