Marketing & Communications Officer – Fixed Term #1057

We are seeking a passionate and creative Marketing & Communications Officer to join our small, busy team. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will play a vital role in promoting the hospice's work and engaging local communities to support our income-generating initiatives. We're looking for someone who has exceptional written and oral communication skills and can prioritize their workload effectively. Working closely with a diverse range of people is vital, so we also want an approachable, enthusiastic individual who is a good listener and works well with team colleagues.
Main duties of the job
* Contribute towards a calendar of marketing activities.
* Manage and create content for social media platforms.
* Support with the creation of photo and video content.
* Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Prioritize tasks ensuring efficient use of time.
* Generate innovative ideas and implement plans effectively.
Job responsibilities
* Contribute towards delivery and maintenance of a calendar of marketing activities in-line with hospice objectives.
* Contribute towards the creation of content for social media platforms ensuring it is relevant and engaging.
* Monitor social media platforms and keep abreast of emerging trends for optimization opportunities.
* Communicate tangible results regularly with stakeholders to ensure marketing activities are adding value to the organization.
* Create compelling, error-free content for a wide range of materials to support income generation activities.
* Work alongside graphic designers to produce marketing materials consistent with brand identity.
* Support with the creation of digital media such as photo and video content as required.
* Assist colleagues with advertising opportunities to ensure the highest income to cost ratios possible.
* Work closely with Marketing Team colleagues to identify and deliver promotional opportunities.
* Build strong working relationships across all areas of the hospice.
* Play an active role in supporting the Head of Marketing & Communications regarding general tasks.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* A level English or equivalent.
* CIM or degree level or above in a relevant subject.
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years marketing experience.
* Content creation for multiple social media channels.
* Write, edit & proof-read copy for a range of audiences.
* Working with multiple teams/stakeholders.
* Knowledge and experience of basic video filming and editing.
* Experience of working with a content management system (e.g. WordPress).
Additional Criteria
* Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
* Organizational skills to manage and prioritize a demanding workload efficiently.
* Advanced I.T. skills in particular experience of using Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to work on own initiative with a can-do attitude.
* A creative, open mind with the ability to identify opportunities.
* Approachable & supportive team player.
* Ability to travel independently throughout the locality with access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.
* Personal resilience and emotional intelligence to deal with occasional exposure to emotional situations with service users.
