Deputy Nursing Clinical Lead- Harbourside Gynaecology Unit

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic gynaecology nurse to join and support leadership of Harbourside unit (outpatient procedural gynaecology unit).
36 hours per week- where possible made up of 4 x long days (8:30-18:00)- there may be occasions due to clinic cancellations where some shifts may be made up of early shifts (8:30-13:30) & late shifts (13:00-18:00).
Our women's health clinics include Colposcopy, Hysteroscopy, Menorrhagia, Post-Menopausal Bleeding (PMB), Coil, Vulval and Urogynaecology as well as other specialist gynaecology clinics as required.
The post holder will work closely with the band 7 to lead the team, motivate staff, help set the direction for service improvement, implement change, and role model demonstrating the behaviours expected from all the staff with regards to displaying excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism, upholding the Organisations Values.
You will ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical care with an excellent patient experience. The ability to communicate effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team is essential and required to build successful links between key professionals to support and promote effective multi-disciplinary team working.
Informal visits are encouraged but not mandatory.

Main Duties of the Job
* Deputise to support the nursing team to deliver day-to-day activity across sites, including completing rostering for staff and students.
* Act as a role model and clinical expert working across all clinics (Colposcopy/Hysteroscopy/Menorrhagia/PMB) to provide safe, empathetic, and dignified outpatient care.
* Provide support for staff to develop knowledge and skills within women's health gynaecology.
* Provide a safe pathway of care for patients, working clinically with other health care professionals to maintain and improve the patient experience.
* Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of policies and pathways.

Qualifications
* NMC registered Adult Nurse/Midwife
* Counselling skills course
* Physical Examination of the Adult Course
* Recruitment & selection course
Experience
* Demonstrable experience of working within gynaecology or women's health setting.
* Evidence of effective prioritisation and time management.
* Evidence of working unsupervised under own initiative.
* Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience.
* Experience of supporting the management of change and developing a service.
* Experience of leading, motivating and supporting team members.
* Experience of rostering a team.
Other
* IT literacy using a range of current and relevant packages.
* Ability to make sound clinical judgements and use sound clinical reasoning.
* Ability to work under pressure and with frequent interruptions.
* Venepuncture/cannulation.
